Heroes

What makes a man a hero? I also wonder whether heroes in this world are only declared after they have passed away? Is it better to declare someone a hero when they are aware of it? Does it matter to the hero to be a hero? I wonder. Questions raised yet not necessarily answered.

My granduncle, Rizal Yuyitung { di tsiak kong as I refer to him as, in hookien dialect } is one of the 5 unveiled heroes for the year 2007 on November 30th in the Philippines. What an honour to the family who are still living and to all those who worked alongside with him in standing for what they believe in.

I am an extended family member who reads, hears, listens to happenings and seem to be on the sidelines most of the time in most family events yet desires to be there physically to hoorah, cheer, celebrate and be a part of it all but I suppose it's Ok to be in the sidelines and be happy for others without having to be there yet still inside you do want to be there despite any other rational. The heart speaks in as much as the mind wills.

I have enclosed a brief summary of "di tsiak kong" Rizal Yuyitung's history.
