growth : juggle : manage
. areas in our lives .
we have various areas in our lives at times we do more one area than the other. some areas even gets neglected. i just reflected a list of areas in our lives that matters to us and affects our well-being. a pen and a paper may come in handy as you read and scribble your first thought in response to the questions.
our faith. our relationship with God. is it stagnant? non-existent? is it going deeper? is it pleasant? is it something you just yearn for? is it just a joy to have?
our family. our relationship with our spouse, children, parents, siblings. what are we doing together? what can we do together that is fun for everyone? what would my relationship be like with them in 5 years? 10 years? are we communicating? are we understanding each other?
our self. our relationship with ourselves. am I taking care of our self? am I getting energised by something I do everyday? is there something that I do that's just fun? that brings a smile and joy in my heart? am I eating healthy? am I feeding my mind with healthy thoughts? am I happy? am I growing as an individual? any of my gifts, interests, talents developing? how am I using my gifts, interests, talents?
our friends. our relationship with those we've journeyed life with in the past and the present. can I encourage one of them? can I cheer one up? have I given my friend a treat? have I shared the joys of my life with a friend? have I shared the tough side of life too? have I said Thank You for something they have done for me? have I expressed appreciation of their friendship? do I have a friend? what can I do to build a friendship?
our work. our role at work. how am I doing with my role? how am I doing with my relationships with colleagues? am I developing my skills at work? am I happy at work? what can be done to enjoy the work that I have. what's the next step? what do I need to maintain or have a great work ethic? what do I really want to do at work?
our finance. our relationship with our spending and earnings. how is our outgoing expenses every month? what is our incoming every month? is it manageable? do I have a budget? am I keeping track? what about retirement? am I OK? do I want to change some things? Do I owe someone? Do I need to pay them? Do I want to pay them? When can I pay them? where am I investing? is it profitable?
setting goals in areas of our lives. having a conscious and intentional objective helps. try spending a morning, an afternoon or an evening reflecting on these things and see where it takes you. if you want your life to make a difference, if you want to live a life that is growing, if you don't want to live a frustrating life...then it's time to reflect and do some intentional positive and progressive changes.
a small step does move forward. one step at a time.
