book binding

One day, our handymen friends came to our house to do some work. I got so excited when I saw the tools that they brought....they had the drill, the sander, the saw, and more. I have been dreaming of making books and preparing to make my own "book binding tool" using scrap wood as suggested by DIY Lifehacker.

Above is the finished binding tool project. As for development of the tool, I added more holes so I can make various sizes. I was very happy with how it turned out and made my mini books / journals immediately as soon as it was done.

I've made 6 handy, pocket size, colorful, hand die-cut with an all natural look.

This mini journal can keep one organize not only that but be inspired by flipping through the beauty of colors. I have signed and numbered the first 6 mini journals as the process was almost like art. In every artwork, the first one of the series is always my favourite.

The pages and the covers has been cut a few weeks ago, waiting to be bounded. As the original idea of binding it with paper didn't work out. I then got the fabric ribbons which looks almost like canvas which I used on the spine. I then die-cut the front cover with a "+" and another design had "-". After all the binding was done. I wrapped it around with brown yarn thread a few times and tied a tiny ribbon on the edge. Lastly, an Ikea pencil which suited the mini journal quite well.
