As I was working on materials till wee hours in the morning. I thought, I've got to have a greater reason for wanting to work like this. It had to be beyond my own interests. Let me see...make a living for the sake of my children's children? live the dream? inspire others? accomodate people's needs? it's a livelihood like everyone else? I believe I need a greater one.
A few hours later...as I was finishing the journal cover from deciding to change the backing to recycled cardboards -- reusing our cereals boxes, reusing 130lb odd prints that were going to get chucked versus using unused white cardstock or chipboard.
As I was trimming the mounted covers. I thought wouldn't it be nice to have this antique onion skin over the backing. So, I went and did it. It looks good I thought. This is costing more and more but it's neat. Through the process I realised I'm enjoying this. I really enjoy creating and making something different.
